Our story

Maison means house. Kesh means Marrakesh.

The family has roots in Marrakesh. The house has roots on 10th Street SE. Maison Kesh is what happens when you let both into the same rowhouse and give them good linen.

a house in full bloom.

1107
Zellige shower, close, morning light

01From the street

A rowhouse with a Marrakesh accent.

Outside, it’s Capitol Hill: brick, a black-framed glass door, brass 1107 on the canopy. Inside, the accent comes through. Teal zellige in the showers, aged brass, terrazzo, walnut, and mint tea on the tray.

“Gone quiet.” sign on a charcoal door

02Inside

No front desk, on purpose.

We’d rather spend it on headboards. Your key arrives on your phone, the door opens when you get there, and a real person answers your texts at (202) 417-6720. All the attention, none of the lobby.

Local art in the hall, curator’s pick

03The neighbors

Made by the people down the street.

The art on the walls is chosen by a neighborhood curator. The mugs are made on the Hill. The treats in your room are made in DC. We just give them a good house to live in.
